Is your name really Melissa Maloo?

Not exactly.  Melissa Maloo is the name my mum used for me when I was young.  For me this name embodies the adventurous, imaginative and fearless parts of me which I embrace in my photography.    My married surname is Juggins (meaning village idiot!) and my maiden surname is Taggart (there’s been a murder!) so you can see why Maloo is a better option.

How long would you spend photographing my wedding?

I will spend the full day documenting your wedding. I’ll start a couple of hours before the ceremony begins to document you getting ready until your first dance in the evening. I can also stay later to get shots of you and your guests on the dance floor.  My photographs will provide you with real memories of your full day for years to come.

Do you take group shots?

As a natural wedding photographer it is a common question to be asked. The answer is yes of course but this will be done with minimum fuss. I normally spend around 15 minutes photographing around 10 group shots for you after your ceremony. If you haven’t already done so please read about my natural approach here.

How long does it take to receive our photos after our wedding day?

This can depend on the time and year and the number of weddings I am editing.   You can normally expect your photographs in around 6 weeks.  I will always send you a  ‘sneak peek’  within a couple of days of your wedding to share with your family and friends. Please read this blog post for details about the post processing of your wedding photographs.

How many photos do we get?

You will receive between 300-350 images – everyone fully edited to the highest possible standard.  If I feel I can give more than the number listed I always do.     The package price factors in the time spent sorting through all your images to ensure you are given the best.

How will I receive my photographs?

The images are delivered in JPEG through an online gallery for you to download. I will present you with both Black and White and Colour Images – choosing the best edit for each photograph.

Do you have back-up equipment?

Yes as a professional photographer I am equipped for any technical problem – should a camera or lens be faulty I have additional equipment I can use. There is no need for you to worry about that.

What happens at a pre-wedding shoot and why should we have one?

A pre-wedding shoot allows us the opportunity to get to know each other and capture some images to celebrate your upcoming wedding. It’s a great opportunity to get used to being in front of the camera.  You can choose a location which is special to you or I can recommend somewhere.  You can expect to receive around 40-60 images from our shoot together.

 Can we print our photographs?

Yes and I hope you do – it’s fantastic to see your photographs in print. You can take your images to your favourite processor such as Boots or you can get them printed online. Your photographs will be uploaded to your own private gallery where you can print directly or download them and print them elsewhere.

Who owns the copyright for our photographs?

I own the copyright for the photographs – this is standard practice for professional photographers.  What this means is that you cannot sell your images or use them in for any commercial reasons; for example allow a magazine to publish them.  As you have read above, you are free to print your photographs to any size and create your own albums.    If you put them on social media please link them to my website and/or facebook page.

What happens if you get ill?

It would take a lot to stop me photographing a wedding.  If the worse did happen and I did couldn’t photograph your wedding, I have a network of fantastic photographers who would photograph your day.

What if I don’t like having my photograph taken?

This is normal and I think this is a really common reaction to posed photographs – which is why don’t do this. You can see from my natural style that couples are free to be themselves which is what creates beautiful, natural images.

How do I book you?

First let’s have a good chat about your wedding and I can answer any questions you might have. This can be on Skype or face to face if you live in Nottingham. On receipt of your 250 deposit and contract your date will be booked for you.  Click here here to find out if  I am available or to ask any other questions.
