On an atmospheric Saturday morning in the Lake District, I joined the award-winning photographer David Stubbs at Storrs Hall—a beautiful Georgian mansion on the shores of Lake Windermere, and the venue for Jackie and Steve’s wedding. It was a year to the day since Steve popped the question here, and the Hall remains a very special place to both of them.

The wedding was a perfect union, with Jackie accompanied by bridesmaids and flower girls from both sides of her new family. The bold and beautiful setting was complimented by Jackie’s choice of rich, warm colours—from the flower girls’ beautiful pink dresses, to a stunning three-tier cake that was designed by Jackie’s bridesmaids, and matched her bouquet.

After an emotional ceremony, the newlyweds joined their guests for canapés in the Rotunda, and were treated to some impressive tricks by magician extraordinaire Sam Fitton. By mid-afternoon, the mist had rolled over the lake, providing a breath-taking and evocative backdrop—the perfect conditions for photographing Jackie and Steve’s stroll along the pier.

Music was provided by Andy Murphy, who introduced the newlyweds with the John Legend classic, All of Me—perfect, for their first dance. Everyone then descended onto the dancefloor, and grooved into the wee hours—young and not-so-young all busting some very impressive moves!

Here are just some of my favourite images, from a magical day.
