Hello, I’m Melissa Maloo!

I’m a Scottish girl LIVING IN NOTTINGHAM who likes Scottish things (apart from football and battered Mars Bars).

I love nature: sunshine, summer and the seaside are my favourites. That’s reflected in my wedding photography – I’m all about natural images and real moments. I don’t just love this style for its look and feel: I love it for the kind of couples I get to work with. The couples that book me are fun and really down to earth people, who don’t necessarily want to pose and fuss all day; the are planning to have a really fun day and want the photographs to capture that! I love hanging out just chilling and having fun with my pals and I think this is reflected in the kind of photographs I take.

I love this picture of me and my hubby at our friends wedding. Although clearly I know the photograph’s being taken, I’m relaxed and having fun. I look at it, and I see happiness. When you look at the photos of your wedding day, you should feel the same way.

I’m a laugher and a hugger and I think my personality helps to put everyone at ease at a wedding. I’m not an old-school shouty wedding photographer – and if you’re reading this, I don’t think that’s the kind of person you’d want for your wedding! I love what I do, and it shows. This isn’t just a job for me; it’s a passion. I’m proud of my work, but I like to have fun with it too. It’s better for everyone that way.
