There’s smoke in the air, leaves on the ground, and the dog’s going mental… which means it’s bonfire night! It also means that Jono and Hannah, one of my favourite couples, will currently be celebrating their first anniversary – so congratulations, guys!
I can’t believe it’s been a year since their beautiful wedding. Jono and Hannah love the Peak District and all things outdoorsy – so they were in their element for this one. The pictures from the gorgeous Whitworth Centre in Darley Dale speak for themselves. You get a feeling for couples, and when Hannah turned up for the engagement shoot wearing just her running gear and a huge smile, I knew we were in for some fun. Suffice to say, she and Jono didn’t let me down…
I loved the colours of this wedding – all the reds, browns and yellows of autumn. Hannah’s vintage dress set the tone for a day full of funky quirks and personal touches – from kicking leaves (and ripping dresses!) in the couples shoot, to the huge effort they had made to create an outdoor fairytale reception at Hasland Village Hall . They had boxes of sweet treats for everyone from the Nottingham Doughnut Company and mountains of curry from Desi Downtown (a personal favourite). As a Scottish girl, it was lovely for me to see them finishing the night off with an authentic ceilidh – some serious laughs were had with everyone swinging around the dancefloor.
It was a lovely day guys, fab memories. Looking forward to seeing you both again in 2018. Big thanks to Herve for helping me on the day.
