I really should go to Leicestershire more – it’s right on my doorstep, after all! Thanks to Lizzie, Matthew and their wonderful wedding, my eyes have now been opened to another wonderful part of the UK.
I spent the morning having lots of fun with Lizzie and her family whilst David headed over to capture Matthew and his pals getting ready.
Accompanied by their gorgeous son, Henry, (who looked an absolute dazzler on the day), Lizzie and Matthew were married at St Peters – a cute little place in Wymondham. I like small, intimate churches, and this one was right out of a picture book!
The happy couple then had their reception at the stunning Stapleford Park Country House Hotel – a Grade I-listed mansion, sat in hundreds of acres of lush Leicestershire countryside. On a chilly day, the weather suited the place and the occasion perfectly; inside, it’s all towering bookcases, high ceilings, chandeliers, grand staircases and roaring fires. There’s lots of deep, dark colours, which helped Lizzie’s beautiful dress to pop even more. The estate includes some stunning gardens, which were perfect for the couple’s shoot (and massive props to Lizzie for owning the cold weather)
A great day ended with a great food, great speeches, and a great band. Once again, two wonderful people, and a beautiful wedding that I felt lucky to shoot. Plus, I got the pleasure of working with my pal David Stubbs, who gave me a one of his rare days off of his very busy schedule. Thank you, David!
