Hello! I thought it would be really useful for to see a picture timeline of a typical wedding day. Each wedding is different but this can help you to understand what I will be doing during the different parts of your day
MORNING BRIDAL PREP
So this is a really good time to get used to me being around and for you to be photographed – let’s face it for most people this is a pretty unusual experience. I have small camera and it is really quiet so don’t worry it’s really not too bad at all. If you can let anyone with with you in the morning know that they can be themselves as I would love to have them in the pictures too hanging out and chatting with you. The main thing is to have fun and enjoy yourselves. You will normally be getting your hair and make up done so I mostly focus on that and the interactions between you are your friends/family. If you want any specific items photographing if you can leave them out for me and I will do this first. I normally don’t spend a lot of time doing these types of shots as I would rather photograph you and your friends and family. Sometimes brides would like to have a picture with their dad and with their bridesmaids before they leave – if you do not a prob – just let me know. I arrive at Bridal prep 2 hours before your wedding to photograph these morning moments.
CEREMONY
You are getting married – too exciting. I love to be up the front near the registrars/vicar if they allow me to be as I can get the best photographs that way. In some cases I am based near at the back which does effect the type of photographs I can take- but this is normally only the case in some religious ceremonies. If the ceremony space allows I will try to get some different angles but often I am based in one place.
CONFETTI
AFTER CEREMONY HUGS AND HI’S
After your ceremony, I will encourage you to be with your guests and enjoy yourself – so plenty of time for hugs and hi’s. I will allow as much time for this as possible before we do the “smile a the camera” family/group shots :-). Please don’t think about the time at all as I will keep an eye on this – just enjoy yourself.
FAMILY PHOTOGRAPHS
I will ask you to give me a list of the family photographs you would like. If you can also let a bridesmaid or groomsman know that I will be doing these towards the end of reception time if they can help me just to get the people in the pics. 10 pictures normally take about 20 minutes. I will check out the venue beforehand if I have not been there and look for good locations for these – where is best can change and is dependant on the weather on the day and light direction
PICTURES OF THE TWO OF YOU
When the venue calls asks all your guests to be seated for dinner I normally have around 10 minutes to take some photographs of the two of you before they will announce you both into dinner. I like to use this time to take a few pics of the two of you. These will be relaxed and fun pictures – no awkward posing I promise. If for any reason I don’t have time we can do these later on – I will normally ask you if we can do a few more pictures after dinner anyway as normally the light is much softer in the evening and it is better for these types of photographs.
SPEECHES
Speeches are normally before or after dinner – you can let me know on your form what you are planning. I will focus on getting some great pics of you guys and the speakers and also get some reactions of the guests. When you are eating your dinner – I will have something to eat too. If your venue provides me a meal that is great – just let me know. If not – no worries – I will bring my own food – not a problem.
EVENING
After you wedding dinner there is normally some time for everyone to relax before your evening celebrations kicks off. I will normally take a few more pics of the two of you in the evening light as this can create some really nice images and gives you two a chance to spend 5/10 mins alone together. I will also photograph also your first dance and stay to get some great photographs of you and your pals on the dancefloor before I leave around 9.
