So, my 2020 ‘best of’ is a little smaller than I expected. Massive thanks to the couples whose weddings I photographed last year. Some had their big day before March as planned (back when Corona was still just a beer); some celebrated after that and had a different kind of wedding to the one they’d envisaged; and some have had to rearrange their wedding so many times, they’ve probably now forgotten when it is!
However, looking at this little collection of weddings – both before and during the pandemic – gives me the same feelings as previous years. When surrounded by those you love the happiness is still there (even with a mask on, or with fewer people), and Covid cannae stop that feeling. 2020 reminded us of something we already knew: that even when life doesn’t go to plan, it doesn’t mean we can’t make the best of it.
I’ve got everything crossed for a more normal 2021 for everyone – although I think a vaccine might be more useful.
