Woohoo! School’s out, and we finally have some sunshine!

Sophie and Simon’s wedding recently in Cheshire was also blessed with some fantastic weather. To start with, I joined Sophie, her family, her best friends, and her dog Lola for the morning’s bridal prep. With a glass of champagne in one hand and a new pair of Jimmy Choos in the other – good work, Simon! – her day was off to a great start. After that, it was over to see the boys. Sophie had bought Simon a beautiful watch, and they were all in high spirits as they got themselves ready. I never get bored of listening to groups of lads, even when I’m working – it’s an educational experience!

The service was held at the beautiful St. Mary’s church, in Astbury Village. Once we arrived, I went exploring – up a spiral staircase, and into the gods. I wouldn’t recommend it if you’re claustrophobic (or arachnophobic, for that matter), but once I was up there, I managed to get some pictures that really capture the full grandeur and elegance of St. Mary’s. Anything for a good shot!

A stunning display of pink and white roses awaited us at the reception, held at Nunsmere Hall – a gorgeous venue, located on an island in the heart of Delamere Forest. There was Pimms, some very moving and funny speeches, and a wonderful first dance set to Christina Perri’s ‘A Thousand Years’. Simon said that he’d known instantly Sophie was the one, and it showed all through the day – they’re a beautiful couple, and thoroughly in love.

Thanks – as ever for the invitation – to the award-winning photographer David Stubbs. Shooting this one was a real pleasure!
