Angela and James’s big day took place at the Old Vicarage, in Southwell – a beautiful boutique hotel, hidden away in one of Nottinghamshire’s most charming market towns. I got to spend some time with James, Angela and their adorable boy Josh for a shoot at Clumber Park a couple of months beforehand. We really hit it off, so by the time of the big day it was like spending the day with two old friends.
On the morning of the wedding we had a great chilled out time, with Angela’s sister and friends. We all had a great time laughing and joking whilst everyone had their make up done beautifully by the fab Caroline Kent.
The service itself was wonderful… and includes one of my favourite photographs. I’m especially proud of the shot of James’s mum, dad and grandparents, all holding hands and looking on. Sweet, honest, and heartfelt moment.
We moved outside for the reception, and – despite a little rain – it was a wonderful afternoon, beautifully accompanied by the music of singer Nick Keen. The party continued into some very funny speeches – especially from Angela’s dad, who’d met the request for a ‘tiny speech’ by writing it out on teeny, tiny post-it notes!. Lots of fun continued to be had into the night with some great dancing by everyone.
Congratulations, Mr and Mrs Lambert – a very lovely couple, and a very lovely day.
