PEAK DISTRICT WEDDING

I do love a Peaks wedding, and this one was absolute beauty!

It was an amazing day in an amazing location, with (most importantly of all) an amazing couple. I loved photographing the day for James and Jenny. Their wedding had a little bit of everything – tipis, tears (in a good way), fireworks, great music, a bit of Leo Sayer, and lots of fun and laughter.

Jenny got ready at the nearby George Hotel just down the hill in Hathersage. Bridal prep is always one of my favourite parts of the day, it’s a great time to get to know everyone and just have a laugh and a giggle. I’m sure you’ll agree that Jenny looked stunning in her dress – so elegant and beautiful – and once she was ready, she was into the Bentley (swit-swoo!) and off to the ceremony.

As you can see from the pictures, the location was absolutely breath-taking. Outdoor ceremonies are fantastic (when the weather behaves, which it did), and the combination of blue skies and beautiful views out over the Peaks was something to behold. It always amazes me the work that couples put in to making a venue their own, but this one had an extra special personal touch – Scraperlow is actually James’ family home!

OUTDOOR, RELAXED WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY IN THE PEAK DISTRICT

Jenny’s arrival was fantastic – everyone could wave to her as she was made her way up the long drive in open top Bentley to the ceremony. The outdoor ceremony was very thoughtful and beautiful. James and Jenny were brave enough to write their own vows, and the love they have for each other came through in every single word.

After dinner, just as the sun was setting over the Peaks, James and Jenny went for a stroll and we captured some relaxed and fun pictures of the two of them. As we walked back it got a little chilly and James gave his new wife his jacket. I love these photographs they are so real and meaningful.

A beautiful day then turned into a fun-filled night. Everyone took to the tipi(as the string lights created a beautiful glow around the tipi – another great touch) That set the stage for some incredible fireworks, and a band – Agent Smith – who had everybody up dancing and having a great time.

Thank you so much for choosing me to photograph your wedding, Mr and Mrs Staniforth – here’s to your future in the beautiful Peak District.

It was great to work with a great bunch of talented people who created and captured Jenny and James’s perfect day. Special thanks to Peter Majdan, my good pal and a fab photographer who worked with me.
